A Painting A Day Postcard from Holland is a project, in which I intend to paint a small ('postcard-size') oil painting each day, and post it to this blog. I will depict everyday objects, local fruits and dutch landscapes. In this way I hope to give visitors a day-to-day impression of my life as an artist in Holland.
I started a larger painting (full figure) a couple of weeks ago but wasn't too happy about it. I still thought the part with the head was ok, so I'll call it a 'head study'. I recorded it with my webcam, see the youtube movie here...

Another evening of figure painting at Wijkcentrum De Schakel, Nijmegen. Testing a toned gesso cardboard surface to paint on this time. Painting medium was a very viscous equal parts stand oil and Venice turpentine. Turned out to be a very good combination....

Haven't been painting much the last couple of weeks because I've been tweaking my artificial light setup for lighting my easel. I ordered a number of Solux halogen lights that come close to the D50 norm of day light. But I did take part in a figure painting session at wijkcentrum De Schakel last week, Nijmegen, with this result...
