Arnhem, Park Sonsbeek

Went to paint outside today with fellow painters Rene Plein Air and Oren Sadeh-Leight. We decided to go to park Sonsbeek in Arnhem. I picked this large tree as a subject. Hope to do some more plein air paintings with Rene in the weeks to come...

Plum in the sun

Went to paint at my current exhibition today. The exhibition is in a chapel of a former boarding school (De Refter). There is a lot of sunlight there due to the large windows in the neo-gothic building. So I decided to paint this piece of fruit lying right in the sun. (which I normally don't do). This resulted in a nice bluish shade behind the plum..

Portrait study (A.L.)

In the past week I've been making a lot of portrait studies. Want to start with pencil drawings to learn how to see proportions first. For this one I used a photo as a basis. Hope to post some more of these soon..
