Peach still life

Haven't really painted on canvas for a long time now, but today I decided to give this a go again in this little test painting. Blending is very easy on canvas, as opposed to painting on wood. The structure of the weave is however always apparent, especially on small paintings...

Flower still life 2

A test-painting of the red/pinkish unknown flower. This time I tried to partly paint the flower using a transparent pigment (alizarine crimson) in order to obtain more saturated (bright) colors. Turns out to be rather difficult to control though, compared to opaque paint. But the colors are indeed much brighter...

This red flower in tiny bottle today. It is after all still the season to send flowers 'n stuff... Forgot to check the name of the flower unfortunately. Looks a bit like a rose but the leafs are more pinkish and rounder...
