A Painting A Day Postcard from Holland is a project, in which I intend to paint a small ('postcard-size') oil painting each day, and post it to this blog. I will depict everyday objects, local fruits and dutch landscapes. In this way I hope to give visitors a day-to-day impression of my life as an artist in Holland.
I painted a second version of this still life and recorded the entire process on video. The complete movie comprises 15 hours of painting and has numerous comments on the technique plus a view of the palette. It's available for download at http://oilpaintingdemos.blogspot.com

Today this outdoor full figure (almost) test painting on a new type of canvas. It consists of a plain cotton sheet glued to mdf. This results in a canvas panel with a very fine weave. See also the movie on youtube. Almost time for some new still lifes again. See if I can get hold of some cherries tomorrow...
