Postcard from Holland - Still life with pommegrenate in box

Dear Friends,

Here is your daily postcard from Holland.

First painting of 2007: a study for a larger painting. Also a test for a new technique I picked up from a monography about Walter Dolphyn. In this technique, a panel is covered in stand oil. Then one can paint into this sticky mass and finish a painting in one go, due to the long open time.
